About Impact and Legacy Projects
Impact and Legacy Projects honor individuals whose leadership, service, mentorship, and character have shaped our communities. Through this network, we celebrate both Living Honorees—those actively continuing to inspire and lead—and Memorial Legacies—those whose lasting impact continues beyond their lifetime. Spanning athletics, education, community service, and mission-driven initiatives, the Legacy & Heroes Network preserves stories, facilitates scholarships and tribute programs, and ensures that the values and contributions of these remarkable individuals continue to inspire future generations.
Impact Project Leaders
Jessica Brady
Jessica Brady is a 9th grade English Language Arts teacher at Patterson Mill High School who is dedicated to helping students build strong reading, writing, and critical thinking skills. In addition to teaching English, she serves as the faculty advisor for Patterson Mill’s National Honor Society, where she guides students in leadership, scholarship, service, and character. Through both her classroom and extracurricular involvement, Ms. Brady has made a lasting impact by encouraging students to grow academically, become confident leaders, and overall make a positive difference in their school community.
Bob Chance
An admirable educator, mentor, and role model, Bob Chance is one of Harford County’s most dedicated community voices. He began teaching at Bel Air High School in 1968 and helped found C. Milton Wright High School. As an environmental advocate, he promotes practical and responsible stewardship. His core message centers on positivity, individuality, and youth development. Jamie Childs
A dedicated educator, author, mother, and leader, Jamie Childs has earned her spot as one of Harford County's most driven and motivational figures. Currently residing at Edgewood High School, Mrs. Childs serves as an English teacher and coordinator of the school's International Baccalaureate Diploma Program. Through her collaborative efforts to encourage students towards success, she has cemented her place as a vital figure to Edgewood's ever-growing community. CJ Heatley
CJ "Heater" Heatley is a 76-year-old lifelong ballplayer and former Naval Aviator, born in Pensacola, Florida and raised Lehigh County, Pennsylvania. Heater played across the U.S. and internationally, throwing bullpen sessions on aircraft carriers while deployed and earning his iconic nickname. He has earned eighteen championship rings with an honorable legacy of team mentorship. Kelly Richardson

Paul Smeton
Paul Smeton is a recently retired investment and financial planner of 30 years, as well as a lover of baseball, golf, and tennis. He is passionate about helping other experience the game of baseball together, and helping to support and help those less fortunate. Paul has always found a way to connect the many circles in his life: to nurture relationships, help everyone have fun, and make a lasting impact on others and the world around him. Legacy Project Leaders
Richard Faust
Richard Faust was a participant in many events around the Baltimore Orioles Fantasy Baseball Camp from 1995 until his unfortunate passing in 2019. He helped organize the annual Baltimore Orioles Cooperstown Tournament and won the 2014 Championship.Nicknamed "The Rev," he preached daily about everything imaginable, from how to hit a baseball to how to look good in a uniform to how to have fun in everything you do to how to enjoy life to the fullest. Dan Funk
An outstanding Softball Coach for Churchville Lighting, Dan Funk dedicated over 20 years of his life to coaching, mentoring, and inspiring young athletes. He left an unforgettable mark on the team and community, going above and beyond for every player he worked with. Joshua Hamer
Joshua Hamer was a passionate athlete, student, and friend whose infectious energy effortlessly uplifted everyone around him. As a John Carroll baseball player and recipient of a highly competitive scholarship, Josh exemplified the values of John Carroll in everything he did. Brent Toms
Toms was an avid baseball fan and a beloved Coach for the Sentinels baseball team at Evangelical Christian School. He was also a valued member of the Lee County Code Enforcement Office. Featured Initiatives
Educators 4 Impact
The mission of the Educators 4 Impact (E4I) is to preserve, honor, and extend the impact of educators who shaped our community while inspiring future generations to serve. E4I creates Living Legacy Pages for educators, offers support for families honoring loved ones, and holds events recognizing educator contributions through youth-powered storytelling and archiving and community engagement tools.

The Baseball Legacy Society (BLS) honors the lasting contributions of those who have shaped the baseball community—both those we remember and those still making an impact. Through shared stories, personal tributes, and legacy-driven initiatives, we celebrate their impact both on and off the field. Our mission is to preserve these legacies, support one another through all seasons of life, and ensure that the spirit of our baseball family continues to inspire for generations to come.

The mission of Technology 4 Causes (T4C) is to support specialized assistance programs and charitable initiatives, expanding their positive impact through the multiplying powers of technology, networking, and collaboration.
The vision of Technology 4 Causes is to operate numerous Mentoring Programs, Technology Assistance Programs, Sports 4 Causes Programs, and Helping Hubs. The combination of these initiatives creates a powerful multiplying effect for all T4C activities powered by a common technology platform and philanthropic infrastructure.
