2026 Leaderboard & Tournament Result
Home Runs for the Homeless
Home Runs for the Homeless (HR4H) is Harford Family House's signature annual fundraising event, bringing together baseball players, volunteers, sponsors, and community members to help provide housing, support services, and hope for families and individuals experiencing homelessness in Harford County. Every swing, donation, and volunteer hour helps make a lasting impact.
HR4H Is Powered By B4C
Hardware and Operational Support
Baseball 4 Causes generously provides Home Runs for the Homeless with an iPad and a custom event scoring application to record scores, manage player and team data, track tournament progress, and support day-of-event operations. The technology allows volunteers to enter results instantly, reducing errors, eliminating manual calculations, and keeping the tournament running smoothly the entire day.
For years, tournament scores were tracked manually using paper score sheets before being totaled by hand. While effective, the process required additional time between teams and made it difficult to track special award categories throughout the day.
To modernize the experience, DICORP developed a custom scorekeeping platform built with Anvilor, a low-code technology developed to simplify complex workflows. Scorekeepers entered each swing on an iPad while the application automatically calculated scores, applied tournament rules, and updated standings in real time.
The new system also introduced live leaderboards, allowing participants and spectators to follow the competition throughout the day. By reducing manual calculations, the platform shortened scoring time enough to schedule teams every 20 minutes instead of 30, increasing tournament capacity by approximately 50% and creating even greater fundraising potential for Harford Family House.
The iPad app feeds data from every swing directly into a central database, allowing scores and player statistics to be processed instantly throughout the tournament. This information powers a real-time leaderboard that updates continuously, giving players, spectators, volunteers, and supporters the ability to follow the action as it happens. Teams can track their standings, monitor friendly competition, and celebrate big moments as they unfold, while sponsors and community members stay engaged with the event from anywhere. At the conclusion of the tournament, the finalized leaderboard serves as the official record of results, recognizing top performers, highlighting team achievements, and preserving the accomplishments of the day.
Baseball 4 Causes helps expand the reach and impact of Home Runs for the Homeless by promoting the event before, during, and after tournament day. Through engaging digital content, social media, interviews, and community storytelling, we help showcase the people and organizations that make the event possible. Following the tournament, our team develops a comprehensive recap landing page that captures the day's highlights, celebrates award winners, shares event statistics, and preserves memorable moments through photos and participant stories. By creating a lasting digital record of the tournament, we not only recognize the incredible efforts of volunteers, sponsors, players, and donors, but also raise awareness of Harford Family House's mission, inspire future participation, and encourage continued community support. Every story shared helps amplify the impact of the event, ensuring that its message reaches far beyond the baseball field and continues to make a difference throughout the year.
Competing for a Cause
B4C doesn't just support the tournament, it also participates in it. Each year, two Baseball 4 Causes teams, DICORP & JHU Bomb Squad, take the field, competing alongside the rest of the community while raising additional funds to support Home Runs for the Homeless and Harford Family House.
Innovation in Action
Real-Time Scoring
Each swing was entered directly into the scorekeeping application, automatically calculating totals and bonus swings, including tournament rules.
Live Standings
Players and spectators could watch rankings update throughout the day, making every at-bat part of an exciting live competition.
More Teams. Greater Impact.
Faster scoring reduced each team's time slot from 30 to 20 minutes, allowing 50% more teams to participate and helping raise more support for HFH.
