B4C and BUBA

The Baltimore Urban Baseball Association is a Baltimore-based nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming lives through baseball and softball. Founded with a mission to increase opportunities for youth in underserved communities, BUBA uses sports as a vehicle for mentorship, leadership development, academic enrichment, character building, and community empowerment. Through free or low-cost programming, training, and educational support, BUBA creates pathways for young athletes to grow both on and off the field.

At Baseball 4 Causes (B4C), we strongly believe in the same core values that drive BUBA’s mission — using the game of baseball to build community, develop leaders, create opportunities, and positively impact lives. Both organizations recognize that baseball is more than a sport; it is a platform for mentorship, education, personal growth, and long-term community change.

Because of this shared vision, Baseball 4 Causes proudly supports many BUBA initiatives and collaborative efforts. Our partnership is built on a mutual commitment to expanding access, strengthening communities, mentoring young people, and creating meaningful experiences through the game we all love.

Financial Reality Fair

Baseball 4 Causes is proud to partner with APGFCU to bring a Financial Reality Fair to the students of the Baltimore Urban Baseball Association (BUBA).

This fun, interactive program gives students a hands-on look at what it takes to manage money in the real world. Participants will be given a career and monthly income and challenged to make decisions about housing, transportation, food, health care, savings, credit, lifestyle expenses and more. Along the way, they’ll encounter some of the unexpected expenses that are part of everyday life — all while learning valuable lessons about budgeting, saving and making smart financial choices.

Everyday Sport Psychology

Baseball 4 Causes is proud to partner with Person Before Player and the Baltimore Urban Baseball Association (BUBA) for Everyday Sports Psychology, a mental health awareness seminar designed specifically for student-athletes.

Led by Dr. Shreya Hessler and Casey Giovanazzi Kutner, this engaging and practical discussion will help young athletes better understand the connection between mental health and athletic performance. Topics will include managing performance anxiety and pressure, building confidence and resilience, handling setbacks, finding balance between sports, school, family and social life, and developing a healthy identity beyond athletic performance. The goal is to give athletes practical tools they can use both on and off the field.

League of Futures

Coming in Summer 2027: The League of Futures is a collaborative initiative designed to create meaningful opportunities for young athletes through baseball, mentorship, leadership development, and community engagement. Organized through the partnership of Baseball 4 Causes (B4C) and the Baltimore Urban Baseball Association (BUBA), the program aims to bring together players, coaches, mentors, and community leaders for impactful experiences both on and off the field. More than just a baseball event, the League of Futures is focused on inspiring the next generation through teamwork, exposure, education, and personal growth while using the game as a platform to build stronger futures and stronger communities. Participants will enjoy a full day of baseball games, a special mentoring activity, lunch, and the opportunity to meet and connect with players and mentors from across the community.
