Intern Showcase: Aleeza Khan

All About Aleeza

Name: Aleeza Khan

School:  Patterson Mill High School

Grade: Senior

Intended Major: Biology and Computer Science

In my free time, I enjoy playing tennis and hanging out with friends. Inspired by my older sister Yumnah, I joined the Transformation Guild as an intern, eager to gain hands-on experience and explore new opportunities.

How I Found the Guild

I found out about the Guild from my older sister, Yumnah, who met Shelly, and Shelly told Yumnah about the Guild. When Yumnah told me about the internship, I knew I would be interested. Once I learned more about T4C’s mission to support nonprofits through accessible tech, I was excited to join.

I’ve always been passionate about using technology as a tool for social impact, and Technology 4 Causes gave me a meaningful opportunity to turn that passion into action.  As an intern, I’ve worked on building and designing landing pages that help nonprofits communicate their mission, attract support, and establish a stronger digital presence. From working with real clients to translating their needs into functional, accessible web content, this role has allowed me to contribute directly to organizations making a difference, and to do so through work that’s both creative and purpose-driven.

Lessons From Technology 4 Causes

Throughout my internship at Technology 4 Causes, I gained hands-on experience in building landing pages, creating digital content, and developing forms. I've also developed a stronger ability to translate a non-profit or company’s mission into a compelling story with the help of my supervisors.

One of the biggest challenges I faced was managing different deadlines while maintaining attention to detail. This pushed me to improve my time management and prioritize tasks efficiently and effectively. Another challenge was adapting to new technologies quickly, which helped me become more resourceful and confident in learning on the fly.

Overall, I have:

  • Improved my technical skills by creating and designing landing pages.

  • Learned how to manage my time better and meet deadlines.

  • Been more organized by keeping track of project details and tasks.

  • Practiced being professional when communicating with clients and teammates.

  • Learned new tools and technologies quickly.
