Why Participate

Tee Up 4 Impact is more than a golf fundraiser — it’s a chance to turn a great day on the course into meaningful support for our community.

Proceeds from the event will help fund:

  • The Dan Funk Legacy Project
  • The Josh Hamer Legacy Project
  • Baltimore Urban Baseball Association (BUBA) Initiatives
  • The Community Ballpark Alliance

Each of these programs reflects the mission of Technology 4 Causes — bringing people together through mentorship, community engagement, legacy building, and opportunities that make a lasting difference.

Below, you can learn more about each initiative and the impact your participation will help create.

The Dan Funk Legacy Project

Coach Dan was an outstanding coach, friend and mentor to the players of the Churchville Lightning as well as the countless others that he worked with as either a high school or private lesson coach. Key initiatives of his Legacy Project include the creation and operation of a mentoring program and expansion of the Project in collaboration with the Churchville Lightning to help carry on Coach Dan’s passion for guiding young athletes both on and off the field

The Joshua Hamer Legacy Project

Josh Hamer tragically lost his life on his way to school in 2017 at just 15 years old, but his spirit and impact continue to inspire so many in the community. The Josh Hamer Legacy Project honors Josh’s life through programs focused on education, mentorship, baseball, and community support.

The project provides memorial scholarships to students attending The John Carroll School, as well as legacy scholarships for graduating seniors pursuing college, trade school, or other post-high school opportunities. In addition, the project supports youth mentoring initiatives, baseball field and facility improvements through the Community Ballpark Alliance, and Josh’s Helping Hands programs that assist families in need and support meaningful community causes.

Baltimore Urban Baseball Association

Baltimore Urban Baseball Association (BUBA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening Baltimore communities through baseball, mentorship, and positive youth opportunities.

Through Tee Up 4 Impact, we are proud to support collaborative BUBA initiatives focused on leadership, personal growth, and community connection. Together, we have already partnered on a Mental Health Awareness event for players and are developing the “League of Futures” initiative — bringing BUBA players to The John Carroll School for a day of baseball, mentorship, and unforgettable experiences on a collegiate-caliber field.

The Transformation Guild

The Transformation Guild is a youth mentoring program that helps students build confidence, develop real-world skills, and discover their potential through hands-on experiences in technology, media, storytelling, leadership, and community engagement. Through mentorship and meaningful projects, students gain opportunities to grow personally and professionally while making a positive impact in their community.

Check out the incredible accomplishments of last year’s summer interns here and see the impact they made throughout the community. Be sure to click on each student’s showcase page to explore their projects, experiences, and the meaningful work they contributed during the program.

Prizes and Raffles

Get ready for a day full of friendly competition, fun challenges, and exciting prizes throughout the tournament. Golfers will have the chance to test their skills in contests like Longest Drive and Closest-to-the-Pin, along with other opportunities to compete, have fun, and win great prizes. Whether you are coming out to play seriously or just enjoy the day with your group, these challenges add an extra level of excitement to the course and give everyone a chance to make their round even more memorable.
