Field Maintenance

As a general reminder, teams are required to follow the field maintenance rules specified at each field. When playing at Fairfax County HS fields, you should rake AND fill all holes created on the mount and around home plate. Field maintenance for Loudoun County and Montgomery County regional park fields are the sole responsibility of those agencies, meaning, our teams are NOT allowed to do anything to those fields.

In addition, BOTH teams need to assist with field prep and close down. Also, when you leave your game, please make sure to pick up all trash and take home all of your belongings.

To view field maintenance rules, click the button which will take you the "locations" page of the DCMSBL website.

Over 70 Inaugural Season/Game

Thank you to all who helped make the 70s inaugural season a great one! The hope is to recruit 30+ players for next year so that we can add two more teams.

LeagueApps Notification Reminder

We have had a few managers ask us this year about notifying their teams of rainouts and game location changes. As a reminder, when a change is made in LeagueApps, your entire team will get an email announcing the change.

50s/60s Fill in Catcher

In June, we held a vote for the 50+ and 60+ divisions on whether or not they would be allowed to borrow a catcher one time, for a regular season game. The vote passed for both age groups and is now reflected on the league website.

Players of the Week

FROM MSBL NATIONAL:

Greetings from MSBL! We want to take a moment to re-introduce you to a successful feature we have provided throughout the years called the ‘MSBL Players of the Week.’ This concept will recognize any pitchers or position players from the previous week who achieved an outstanding league or tournament game. We will share their achievement on the national website as well as our Facebook and Twitter pages and as part of our monthly newsletters.

If you have a player on your team, or in your league, who had an outstanding game, either at the plate or on the mound, please send the information to Steve LaMontia at msbllamontia@aol.com. Please include their name, which league, which team and age division, and a brief description of their heroic day in as much detail as you wish to provide, including any startling defensive efforts.

If you happened to grab a picture of them after their special day, please send it along! Steve will also be happy to contact the player directly for any comments or pictures so please include their email address, if possible.

We look forward to hearing all about any special efforts in your league. We will notify you if your player is recognized and you can also notify them. In addition, Steve will send you a link to the story to post on your league or team websites and social media platforms. There is no limit to the number of players we recognize.

We at MSBL are very excited about recognizing the players from around the country this year. Good luck in 2024!
