- Nara conducted an experiment at University of Rochester's Laboratory for Laser Energetics to study high entropy alloys with the Omega EP laser. She participated in a summer internship at Johns Hopkins University, Hopkins Extreme Materials Institute (HEMI).
- Nara is the developer and leader of Plankton passion project at Anita C. Leight Estuary Center. She is also a Chesapeake Bay SAV Watcher and Marsh Plant Phenology Volunteer Scientist.
