About Jessica Brady
A Passion for Teaching
Ms. Brady’s passion for teaching began long before she stepped into a classroom. As a child, she would come home from preschool and pretend to be her teacher, lining up her stuffed animals for “nap time” and caring for them just as her own teacher had.
In eighth grade, everything became more clear. An inspiring English teacher, Ms. Borries, encouraged her love of writing during a difficult time when her mother was battling breast cancer. Looking back, Ms. Brady says that experience shaped both her love of English and the teacher she would become.
“She encouraged my love of writing and helped me see that it could provide a respite from the difficulties of the real world.”
As she got older, friends often asked her to review their papers, and she discovered she genuinely enjoyed helping others improve their writing.
Today, that same passion guides her classroom.
Why English?
To Ms. Brady, English isn’t about finding the “right” answer—it’s about discovering your own perspective. Whether students are debating Shakespeare’s characters or questioning the choices of Odysseus, she loves watching literature spark meaningful conversations and critical thinking.
She loves watching passion grown about loving (or hating) characters, or even the authors like Homer or Shakespeare themselves. She says herself that, “Hearing students who were once apathetic passionately argue that Romeo is a phony or that Odysseus is reckless is one of my favorite parts of being an English teacher.”
Shaping Students Into Leaders
As the National Honor Society adviser, Ms. Brady believes leadership is revealed during difficult moments rather than easy ones. She believes that "the best test of a leader comes when something goes wrong.”
She encourages students to take ownership of their mistakes, solve problems, and learn from failure instead of fearing it.
Rather than making every decision herself, she gives NHS officers the opportunity to lead. She grants the "freedom to plan, implement, and oversee the goals of the chapter… Sometimes they fail or fall short, but that’s part of becoming a strong leader: Learning how to bounce back.”

Instead of simply lecturing, Ms. Brady views herself as a guide who helps students discover ideas on their own. She views her role as that of a "facilitator".
Ms. Brady believes students learn best by discussing literature together, asking questions, challenging one another’s thinking, and talking through the process rather than simply listening to answers.

Making a Difference
One moment that has stayed with Ms. Brady began with a difficult conversation about plagiarism. Rather than focusing only on the consequences, she chose to listen, helping the student understand the value of integrity while offering empathy for the challenges she was facing.
Years later, that same student returned to thank her during her senior year while taking a college class, sharing that the conversation had shaped how she approached her education and resisted the temptation to take shortcuts. The student had let her know that now with advancements in AI, the temptation to take shortcuts was definitely there, but their conversation stuck with her, and she thought that her peers would've benefitted from the conversation as well.
For Ms. Brady, it was a powerful reminder that while teachers may not always see the results of their efforts right away, the lessons they plant can continue to grow long after students leave the classroom.

The mission of Technology 4 Causes (T4C) is to support specialized assistance programs and charitable initiatives, expanding their positive impact through the multiplying powers of technology, networking, and collaboration.
The vision of Technology 4 Causes is to operate numerous Mentoring Programs, Technology Assistance Programs, Sports 4 Causes Programs, and Helping Hubs. The combination of these initiatives creates a powerful multiplying effect for all T4C activities powered by a common technology platform and philanthropic infrastructure.
Educators 4 Impact
The mission of the Educators 4 Impact (E4I) is to preserve, honor, and extend the impact of educators who shaped our community while inspiring future generations to serve. E4I creates Living Legacy Pages for educators, offers support for families honoring loved ones, and holds events recognizing educator contributions through youth-powered storytelling and archiving and community engagement tools.

The Transformation Guild is a mentoring program of Technology 4 Causes, which was launched by the Kutcher Foundation in collaboration with DICORP, Inc. to create a powerful philanthropic impact through the multiplying forces of technology. The Guild is dedicated to harnessing the power of writing and technology to create a positive impact in society. Our primary focus is to engage and inspire young writers to craft compelling stories that encourage involvement in non-profit organizations and charitable initiatives. By providing guidance and instruction through mentorship, we ensure that these young writers receive the necessary support to thrive. Through their participation in this program, they gain invaluable experience while contributing to a greater cause.
