The World Needs Baseball
Bridges of Baseball operates under the idea that the world needs baseball. The founders recognized the power that baseball has to bring people together and aim to utilize that power to foster community and highlight impactful stories. Bridges of Baseball hopes to be a home base for personal stories and analysis from around the world of baseball. They primarily accomplish their goals through publishing long-form essays about the human experience, creating an intersection between journalism and baseball.
Event Highlights
Atmosphere
The All-Star Game Watch Party was hosted at the Problem Child Bar July 14th, 2026, providing an excellent environment for meeting new and old friends. The multitude of TV's and surround sound audio brought life to the All-Star game viewing experience. In addition to acting as the venue, the bar also provided drink deals for the entirety of the event along with an artfully crafted international menu. In planning the event, Bridges of Baseball hoped to gain the attention of baseball fans and non-baseball fans to create a diverse environment of individuals interested in bettering the world around them. They were successful in their efforts and over 40 people with a variety of experiences attended the event. The Bridges of Baseball founders loved seeing the variety of languages, interests, and cultures unite as a community. Together, they created an incredibly positive and upbeat atmosphere that persisted through the nights activities.
Baseball Stars Lookalike Contest
In addition to the Watch Party, the event also included a Baseball Stars lookalike contest in which attendees had the opportunity to dress up as a baseball star and be judged by crowd enthusiasm. Contestants were instructed to dress up as one of four specific all-stars each representing a specific team. The players included James Wood, Bryce Harper, Shohei Ohtani, and Juan Soto. Contestants took it a step further and leaned into Bryce Harper's alter ego as a coffee influencer, dressing up as "Barista Bryce". The crowd’s excitement was immeasurable making it difficult to choose a winner between all the amazing contestants. The events Master of Ceremonies (MC), eventually used a decibel meter to determine who got the loudest cheers. The finalists had a variety of prize options including a signed and framed photo of Ryan Zimmerman, gift cards to the Problem Child Bar, a cooler, bobbleheads of famous baseball players, and an honorary coaching position for the upcoming Diamond Diplomacy game hosted by the Baseball Foundation. The activity was a lot of fun and created a uniquely special memory for all involved.
Captured Memories
Aside from being an opportunity for community, the All-Star Game Watch Party was also a fundraiser for the International Red Cross in Venezuela. Historically, Venezuela has produced incredible baseball talent resulting in several of the world's top All-Star players, Venezuela also won the 2026 World Baseball Classics. Recently, Venezuela has been devastated by earthquakes, the International Red Cross is tirelessly working to support the most impacted communities and preventing further health risks. As an organization focused on perseverance, humanitarianism, and baseball, Bridges of Baseball wanted to contribute to the cause. Attendees were invited to contribute, and a portion of the night's proceeds went to supporting the efforts of the International Red Cross in Venezuela.

The Future of Bridges of Baseball
Bridges of Baseball hopes to make the All-Star Game Watch Party an annual tradition. In future programs, they will continue partnering with impactful organizations and fostering genuine relationships across the baseball community. Beyond events, Bridges publishes long-form essays and reported features that go deep into the human stories baseball can tell - stories about identity, culture, diplomacy, and what connects us across divides. They are currently building a devoted community of writers, editors, and readers to carry that mission forward.

Baseball 4 Causes
Baseball 4 Causes, or B4C, is the philanthropic branch of Technology 4 Causes, a non-profit organization focused on using technology and support services to make a positive impact. B4C aims to create a positive influence within the baseball community and the local community at large through various initiatives by staging events, providing a community platform, and helping other organizations run charitable events. B4C and Bridges of Baseball collaborate to help bring awareness to each other's community events.
