More About the 60+ Classic

Setting the Scene

The 60+ Baseball Classic began bright and early with an 8:15 am check-in, bringing together three dedicated teams made up of 10 to 12 players. An inspiring reminder that passion for the game transcends age. Despite some needing fill-ins, players took to the field with unwavering enthusiasm. The tournament, held on Monday the 15th and generously hosted by John Carroll High School, challenged the players with scorching 100-degree heat. Yet, their love for the game and Teammates 4 Hope was evident as each team played two games under the blazing sun, with matchups starting at 9:00 am, 11:30 am, and 2:00 pm. Our over-60 players went through four cases of water and 90 pounds of ice, a testament to their resilience in the face of the heat.

The Games & Champions

The games were a thrilling showcase of skill and determination, with each seven-inning match decided by just a run or two, making for an incredibly competitive day of baseball. While all three games were extremely close, Team C was able to secure the victory and the champion title, pulling ahead in the final innings. Although the final fundraising total for Teammates for Hope is still being tallied, we are excited to share that the amount raised will be announced here shortly. Stay tuned for updates on those funds raised as we look forward to celebrating the success of this heartwarming event.
