2025 Father & Son/Daughter Recap

On Saturday, October 11th, Baseball 4 Causes hosted our second Father/ Son / Daughter Game on the collegiate-caliber turf field at The John Carroll School in Bel Air, MD. The game started at 4:30 and was the third of the day for several of the fathers. But it was worth a little bit of pain for them to share this great  experience with their sons and daughters.

This year, three father-daughter pairs graced the field: John and Madisyn, Jeff and Rebekah, Brad and Emily. This was Emily Starobin’s first time playing a baseball game, but her experience playing softball and practicing baseball paid off. Earlier in the week, Emily made her first trip to the batting cages and noticed that baseball bats are heavier than softball bats. But if her arm was sore, it didn’t impact her game.

The game featured many big hits, close plays, and, of course, laughs. Participants and spectators alike felt grateful that the rain and wind from the approaching nor’easter held off and that stadium lights were available for the last couple innings. The next Father/ Son / Daughter Game will be scheduled for 2026, and not calling this the second annual game leaves open the possibility of more than one in 2026.
